We hebben niet alleen het beste voor met de mobiliteit van de toekomst, maar willen vooral nu al impact maken. En niet alleen op het gebied van mobiliteit, maar ook op vele andere denkbare vlakken. Daarom zijn we blij te kunnen verkondigen dat we een samenwerkingsverband zijn aangegaan met UNICEF en nu officieel \u2018Business Buddies\u2019 zijn.<\/p>\n

Als Business Buddies van het kinderfonds helpen we bij het duurzame project Plastic Bricks<\/em>. En hoewel plastic weinig duurzaamheid doet vermoeden levert het project veel voordelen op.<\/p>\n

Wat zijn Plastic Bricks?<\/h2>\n

Ivoorkust heeft een enorm afvalprobleem. Dagelijks komt bijna 300.000 kilo plastic terecht op stortplaatsen in armere gemeenschappen. Tegelijkertijd kunnen meer dan 1.5 miljoen kinderen niet naar school, gewoonweg omdat er niet genoeg gebouwen zijn. Plastic Bricks bestrijdt beide problemen door met gerecycled plastic bouwstenen voor klaslokalen te ontwikkelen.<\/p>\n

De verkoop van plastic vindt slechts op kleine schaal plaats, meestal door vrouwen. UNICEF traint ook vrouwen en jongeren in het verzamelen, veilig opslaan en verwerken van het plastic afval. Daarna wordt bij een recycling fabriek het plastic voor een eerlijke prijs afgekocht en verwerkt tot de bouwstenen.<\/p>\n

Eerste doelstellingen<\/h2>\n

FMN draagt hiermee bij aan de doelstelling van UNICEF om op korte termijn 150 vrouwen te trainen in het verzamelen en verwerken van plastic. Ook leren ze samenwerken, communiceren en ondernemen. Met de fabriek kan jaarlijks 9.200.000 kilo plastic verwerkt worden en dat is dan ook het streefgetal. Dat kan leiden tot 528 klaslokaken van gerecycled plastic, die ruimte bieden aan 25.000 kinderen. Ook helpt UNICEF de onderwijskwaliteit te verbeteren door docenten te trainen en het milieu(bewustzijn) te verbeteren door samen met kinderen flora aan te planten.<\/p>\n

Ook bij The Future Mobility Network geloven we dat kinderen kinderen moeten kunnen zijn en zijn blij het verschil te kunnen maken in het leven van meerdere kinderen. UNICEF werkt niet zomaar met iedereen samen, maar selecteert ondernemingen op hun (duurzame) profiel. Daarom zijn we extra trots op deze samenwerking en kijken we samen uit naar een betere toekomst.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
