Het plan, samen met bewoners ontwikkeld, richt zich op toekomstbestendig wonen in samenhang met landschap, waterbeheer en duurzame mobiliteit.<\/p>\n<h2>Onderdeel van het landschap<\/h2>\n<p>Het gebiedsplan Lexmond West biedt een aantrekkelijk toekomstperspectief met ruimte voor circa 300 woningen en een nieuwe randweg. Daarmee wordt invulling gegeven aan twee langgekoesterde wensen van de gemeenschap: betaalbare woningen en minder verkeersdruk in de kern.<\/p>\n<p>Het plan is opgesteld als gebiedsprogramma, waarmee Gemeente Vijfheerenlanden grip houdt op de gewenste ontwikkelingen en de Wet voorkeursrecht gemeenten wordt bestendigd. In samenspraak met inwoners zijn via een scenariostudie de belangrijkste waarden bepaald. Dit heeft geleid tot een integrale stedenbouwkundige opzet waarin landschap, water, mobiliteit en wonen samenkomen. De historische veenverkaveling blijft beleefbaar, het toekomstgerichte watersysteem zorgt voor droge voeten \u00e9n een unieke woonbeleving. De nieuwe randweg biedt op korte termijn verlichting, terwijl de woningbouw in fases van 10 tot 15 woningen per jaar Lexmond op natuurlijke wijze laat groeien. De verkeersstructuur is gericht op wandelen en fietsen en sluit aan op de landschappelijke structuren. Met aandacht voor groen, ontmoetingsplekken en een gevarieerd straatbeeld ontstaat een toekomstbestendige, sociale woonwijk met oog voor de omgeving.<br \/>\nOp 15 april 2025 is het plan door de gemeenteraad vastgesteld.
