In Veghel is de voedselproductie diep geworteld in de maatschappelijke en economische ontwikkeling en identiteit. Aan de Noordkade in Veghel is de afgelopen jaren een imposant en druk bezocht cultuur-, leisure en foodcluster ontstaan. Het betreft bijzonder en markant industrieel erfgoed (voormalige CHV-fabrieksgebouwen en silo\u2019s), gelegen aan de Veghelse haven. Opvallend is de betrokkenheid van Veghelse bedrijven (o.a. Jumbo, Maison van den Boer, Mars, VanderLande Industries) en diverse regionale onderwijsinstellingen.<\/p>\n

Al jarenlang biedt de Veghelse Noordkade een unieke combinatie van cultuur, ontspanning, horeca, detailhandel en evenementen. Product, ambacht en vakmanschap krijgen er de aandacht die ze verdienen. Sommige functies zijn lokaal verzorgend, maar andere trekken publiek van ver buiten de regio. Er is nog ruimte voor nieuwe voorzieningen.<\/p>\n

Samen met de gemeente Meijerijstad en de gebiedsontwikkelaar\/eigenaar is BRO al sinds 2013 intensief betrokken bij deze bijzondere ontwikkeling. Gericht op gezamenlijke kennisdeling, co-creatie en inspiratie over de mogelijkheden, voorwaarden en ruimtelijke organisatie. We werken aan een integraal, afgewogen planologisch kader, onderbouwen vergunningsaanvragen en hebben al vele deelonderzoeken uitgevoerd (ruimtelijk, functioneel). Momenteel maken we samen met de gemeente een omgevingsplan met voldoende flexibiliteit voor dynamiek en innovatie, dat recht doet aan de bijzondere waarden van de locatie en rekening houdt met de omgeving.<\/p>\n

Cultuur, leisure, horeca en retail raken steeds meer met elkaar verweven qua doelgroepen, bezoekgedrag en ruimtegebruik. Tegelijkertijd veranderen de voorkeuren van mensen doorlopend, zeker als het gaat om vrijetijdsbesteding. Op de Noordkade staat een optimale synergie tussen deze functies en aansluiting op de industri\u00eble geschiedenis en het erfgoed centraal, nu en in de toekomst.<\/p>\n
