Afgelopen vrijdag is aannemer K. Dekker voortvarend aan de slag gegaan met de sloop van station Castricum. Het stationsgebouw uit de zestiger jaren was misschien geen architectonisch hoogstandje, maar toch verdwijnt er een stukje geschiedenis. Het station heeft er ongeveer vijftig jaar gestaan (1969, architect Douma). Gelukkig komt er straks een mooi nieuw station voor terug, ontworpen door projectarchitect Wienke Scheltens.<\/p>\n

Ze ontwierp eerder al de nieuwe fietsenstalling en kent de situatie goed, want stapt hier zelf ook altijd uit voor recreatie. Volgens planning zal het nieuwe station eind dit jaar in gebruik worden genomen. Van de eerste delen, zoals de pas gebouwde liften en de renovatie van de tunnel, is al iets te zien. Het recre\u00ebren begint al bij aankomst op het station. Opstuivend zand is een thema in de reizigerstunnel (zie:\u00a0Linked-In <\/a>bericht van Ed Klouwer projectleider bij BGI tegelwerken). De innovatieve overkapping van textiel \u2018tentdoek\u2019 laat nog even op zich wachten\u2026<\/p>\n
