Het ontwerp van studioSK heeft een moderne uitstraling en een uitnodigende luifel bij de hoofdentree. Het station zal samen met een vernieuwd stationsplein de schakel vormen tussen het winkelgebied en de duinen. Het zal functioneren als een \u2018buitenpoort\u2019 voor een groot publiek uit de regio dat vanuit dit station het strand bezoekt.<\/p>\n<p>Het huidige stationsgebouw dateert uit 1969 en is flink verouderd. De gemeente en ProRail hebben daarom een overeenkomst getekend om het station te vernieuwen. Het station wordt beter toegankelijk gemaakt en krijgt een complete make-over.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/studiosk.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2019\/01\/station-Castricum-studioSK-Movares-Architect-Wienke-Scheltens-1-652x367.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Architect Wienke Scheltens van studioSK heeft als hoofdentree een luifel ontworpen van wit gespannen tentdoek, die beschutting biedt aan de reizigers en refereert aan het recreatieve karakter van duincampings in de omgeving. Het station krijgt een warme uitstraling en de bloemenwinkel krijgt een nieuw uiterlijk. Ook de reizigerstunnel wordt vernieuwd en voorzien van drie transparante liften.<\/p>\n<p>De thematiek van duin en strand vormt de inspiratie voor verschillende aspecten van het ontwerp. Zo is er gekozen voor hout en textiel als materialen van de luifel.
