Van 19 tot 26 april is het thema van de Architectuurweek de \u2018Bicycle Metropole\u2019\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>in combinatie met de Bicycle Architecture Biennale. In het kader hiervan verwelkomt Fietsmetropool Leiden de Bicycle Architecture Bi\u00ebnnale 2018. Onderdeel hiervan is een rondreizende tentoonstelling.<\/p>\n

Deze tentoonstelling toont het werk van nationale \u00e9n internationale ontwerpers vanuit alle hoeken van de wereld. De expositie laat zien hoe fietsen het stadsleven kan verbeteren door bij te dragen aan een gezondere levensstijl en een schonere omgeving en hoe designoplossingen fietsgebruik kunnen stimuleren \u2013 https:\/\/www.architectuurweek.org<\/a><\/p>\n

Op 19 april organiseerde men een congres over hoe je een stad ontwerpt voor fietsers: het thema van de Fietsmetropool.<\/p>\n

Het programma bestaat uit inspirerende lezingen en smeed-sessies in de \u2018Tuin van de Smid\u2019. Een van de sprekers is architect Paul van der Ree van studioSK. Hij laat zien hoe je met high-end fietsparkeren kunt voorkomen dat de publieke ruimte verandert in een zee van fietsen. Dat boven- of ondergrondse\u00a0stallingen ontvangst-ruimten\u00a0<\/em>zijn die niet alleen functioneel maar ook publieksvriendelijk en mooi ontworpen zijn. Voorbeeld daarvan is de Fietsparkeergarage Mahlerplein aan de Zuidas in Amsterdam.<\/p>\n
