De uitbreiding van het station maakt onderdeel uit van de nieuwe Vleutensebaan, die bestaat uit een autoweg, een fietssnelweg en een HOV baan en behelst meerdere civiele werken.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/studiosk.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2016\/04\/station-Leidsche-Rijn-Centrum-architect-Nienke-van-de-Lune-studiosk-movares-1-1024x664.jpg\" alt=\"station Leidsche Rijn Centrum architect Nienke van de Lune studiosk movares 1\"><\/p>\n<p>Deze nieuwe verbinding moet ervoor zorgen dat Leidsche Rijn beter wordt verbonden met het centrum van Utrecht. Het civiele kunstwerk dat voor station Leidsche Rijn Centrum ligt aan het Brusselplein. Het is zo ontworpen dat het een nieuwe fa\u00e7ade vormt voor dit nieuw aan te leggen plein.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/studiosk.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2016\/04\/station-Leidsche-Rijn-Centrum-architect-Nienke-van-de-Lune-studiosk-movares-2-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"station Leidsche Rijn Centrum architect Nienke van de Lune studiosk movares 2\"><\/p>\n<p>De facade geeft het station een nieuw uiterlijk en verbind het treinstation met het verderop gelegen busstation dat boven de A2 zal worden aangelegd. Het \u00a0stationsbeeld krijgt door deze ingreep ook meer vorm en identiteit door de colonnade met dubbele hoogte aan het stationsplein. studioSK heeft het project in opdracht van de gemeente Utrecht ontworpen.
